About Doditaal.....

Dodital- Darwa top" is a moderate trek which starts from the Asiganga valley(Sanghamchatti- about 14 km's from the town of Uttarkashi) , goes up to the lake of Dodital (wrapped in perfect wilderness) displaying various colors of the natural beauty and heritage of the local settlements. Beyond the lake one can hike up to the Darwa Top to witness the Grandeur of The Gharwal Himalayas.
Another quite intimidating aspect of this trek ( ofcourse not for the professional hikers) is that , its a winter trail and one can well plan this trek when the north Indian peaks are flooded with snow and you really want to be in the action .

Mythologically-According to one of the popular legends Lord Ganesha chose this place as his abode and hence another name for the lake is "dhundital" meaning ganesh ka tal or lake of Ganesha.
